Cricket

Stanley Primary School has excellent cricket opportunities and teaching staff. There is a boys' team, a girls' team and a year 5 mixed team who play against club teams and in borough competitions.

A key part of our highly successful cricket programme is our link with Middlesex County Cricket Club – having the Chance to Shine Programme and also the one-to-one coaching offered to all boys and girls throughout the year. The pupils have also benefited from the expert coaching of Simon Talbot (former Denmark coach and Dorset player).

Mr James Watson, Stanley Primary School PE Coordinator, is a Level 2 coach who helps organise the borough competitions which lead to County, Regional and National level, so cricket plays a vital part in the curriculum.

The school teams have had opportunities to meet and have coaching sessions with:

Michael Vaughan OBE, ex-England cricket captain

Ebony-Jewel Rainford- Brent, England world cup winner

Beth Morgan, England world cup winner

Lydia Greenway, England

Susie Rowe, England

Pupils also have opportunities to visit Lord’s to watch county championship, T20 and Test matches and play on the Nursery Ground.

The school has excellent links with Teddington CC, Teddington Town, NPL, Twickenham and Sunbury CC:
