Extended Services

Extended Services

There are a number of additional clubs and programmes on offer throughout the year to support families in a number of ways.  Information about all these will be given on this website and in newsletters and flyers.

Stanley Children and Family Centre

We are fortunate in having the Stanley Children and Family centre situated in the new building at the corner of Stanley and Strathmore Roads, above the nursery. There is a wide variety of activities on offer to support parents and carers with family life. There are lots of ideas of what to do with your child such as Baby Massage, Messy Play and many more - full details of all their activities can be found on www.richmond.gov.uk/childrens_centres  and follow the link to the Stanley programme. If you have any general enquiries you can contact the Centre by email stanleyccinfo@richmond.gov.uk or by phone 07904 680841.

Time for Rhyme

Research shows that children who can rhyme from a young age have better literacy skills (i.e. reading and writing).  Therefore, why not pop along to a drop-in session on Monday mornings from 9-9.30am in the Children and Family Centre.  It is for pre-school children of any age who would like to make new friends, learn some new songs and sing some old favourites.

Stanley EAL Friendship Group

We welcome families, whose first language is not English, to a Friendship Group which runs on Thursday mornings from 9am until 12 noon at school. It is an opportunity to meet new friends and learn English in a small friendly group session. There will be an emphasis on understanding the education system and getting involved in your child’s school as well as learning about other people’s language and culture. The sessions are free and more information is available from Ruth Durant on 020 8892 0961.

Book Club

As an initiative to encourage a love of reading and the enjoyment of books, the school runs a bookshop offering children the facility to buy books or low priced stationery items, such as rubbers, stickers and pencils.  Children can buy savings stamps to buy books at the club which runs every Monday lunchtime.
