Football

Football is a sport open to everyone at Stanley Primary School. The standard is very high in the 'A' teams and players can go on to play for professional football academies and some have gained scholarships to private schools.

Our teams often play in both the Surrey Cup and the borough leagues and cups. The girls have entered Chelsea tournaments playing at the training ground in Cobham, whilst the boys have played in tournaments organised by Brentford and AFC Wimbledon. All these competitions feed into National competitions.

The Years 3 and 4 teams enter the Surrey Cup at Charterhouse and we also compete in the borough mixed competition.

At the start of the Year the boys enter a 5-a-side competition at Hampton Boys' School.

The football is overseen by Mr James Watson, a scout for Fulham FC. The boys' teams are coached by Andy Scates who works for Chelsea Academy and is manager of the well- respected Esher Wizards.

The girls' teams are coached by Rob Tuvey who is a coach at AFC Wimbledon’s Academy.

The school has excellent links with the local football clubs and many of our boys go on to play for Esher Colts, Hampton Youth, Hearts, Teddington Athletic or NPL.
